<p> </p> <p><strong><u>BRIEF NOTE</u></strong></p> <p><strong><u>Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition - Goa</u></strong></p> <p>This Institute is a Central Autonomous Body under the financial and administrative control of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.</p> <p>The Institute is a Society registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 to impart hospitality education in Craft Courses and was formerly known as ‘Food Craft Institute (Goa)’ registered in the year 1967 and later upgraded to Diploma level in the year 1984 and thereafter to Degree Level in the year 2002 onwards to its present name ‘Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition (Goa) Society’.</p> <p>The Institute is affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Noida and is currently offering the following regular courses for student in-take capacity :</p> <ol> <li>3-Year B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration with 400 in-take capacity.</li> <li>Diploma in Food Production with 42 in-take capacity.</li> <li>Diploma in Food & Beverage Service with 42 in-take capacity.</li> <li>Craftsmanship Course in Food Production and Patisserie with 106 in-take capacity.</li> <li>Craftsmanship Course in Food & Beverage Service with 84 in-take capacity bi-annual(42+42).</li> </ol> <p>The main aims and objectives of the Institute is to carry on the administration and management of the Institute and to provide instructions and training in all crafts and skills, all the branches of knowledge both theoretical and applied and all the organizational and management techniques which are required for the efficient functioning of catering establishments of all skills, as well as institutional feeding programmes in schools, industrial establishments and similar organizations.</p> <p>This Institute is one of the pioneer bodies in the country which enjoys maximum modern facilities and has well qualified staff. They are trained as Qualified Learning Facilitators at Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne(EHL), Switzerland.</p> <p>The Institute has been recording high academic results in all the courses being conducted thereby attracting enthusiastic groups/hotels for conducting campus interviews to recruit our students.</p> <p>Alumni of the Institute who began their career here just a couple of decades ago, are currently leaders in the Industry and are placed across the globe, some rising up to stellar heights in their careers – Senior Vice President, General Managers – a major achievement for an Institute so young.</p> <p>The Institute has been following best practices in line with the Swachh Bharat Mission and has been awarded ‘The Best Maintained Institute under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India’ in the year 2018-2019 and boasts such green practices as Sweage Treatment Plant, Solar Lighting, Water recycling and garbage segregation and are striving towards plastic free environment.</p>
